Excursion to Karni Mata Temple (Rat Temple)

What this tour is about:
Karni Ma is the patron goddess of the royal family of Bikaner. Her temple is at Deshnok, about 40 minutes from Bikaner. The temple is famous and attracts worshippers from all over Rajasthan. Many tourists also visit this temple, primarily to see the rats which are considered sacred to Karni Ma. On the way to the temple, we will visit the royal cenotaphs at Devi Kund. We will also visit some of the village areas near the temple to see rural life in this part of Rajasthan.

Tour Notes: There are lots of rats at the rat temple. If you are going to be alarmed and disturb the peace at this place of worship, please do not attempt this tour. We ask that you respect the sanctity of this temple through your behaviour and dress. Photography of the temple idol is not allowed. The temple prohibits leather articles, such as purses and belts.
